Nuturing community through storytelling for tech incubator.

C4DI (Centre for Digital Innovation) is Hull’s thriving tech hub - a space where startups, scaleups and established businesses come together to innovate, collaborate and grow. Bloom Creative supported the innovation centre to create, manage and deliver content across multiple channels.

Every word, post and photo was designed to build connection, show value and create visibility for the brilliant work happening inside the C4DI walls and beyond. 

The challenge.

C4DI’s mission was clear - connecting the vibrant community of tech and creative talent with some of the region’s industry leaders and putting Hull firmly on the map as the place to be for digital innovation. 

However, with a busy and often overstretched team, they struggled to create consistent content and communication on their website, newsletter, and social media. 

The key challenge was nurturing the existing community while bringing in a consistent flow of new members and partnerships. 

Our solution.

We became a content partner, working closely with C4DI’s directors and wider leadership team to create community-first communications across multiple channels. 

We immersed ourselves in the culture and community of the hub to truly understand the people, their challenges, and their success stories. 

From here, we delivered 100s of content pieces over a five-year period.

  • Crafted interviews with members and partners, showcasing startup and digital innovation success stories.

  • Published weekly email newsletters keeping thousands of subscribers up to date on the latest news about the digital economy in the region.

  • Created regular social content that championed community wins and celebrated collaboration.

  • Captured events, wrote up engaging recaps, and supported with promotion before and after.

  • Co-organised hosted Creative Point - an event series bridging Hull’s digital and creative scenes.

  • Represented C4DI across the UK, delivering talks on community content at Barclays Eagle Labs events.
